Training Ship Barracuda
Proud to be part of this unit, for it has churned out many of us.
Was looking through the old photos with Kenneth from Southern waves today while we were in NUS getting this appeal one. When we were scrolling through the photos of sea scouts back in those days, the nostaglic feeling came grabbing me hard on the throat. I am truly grateful to what john, the unit, the seniors and the juniors have done to groom us to who we are today. Was flipping through the photos with ken and realised that we have done reasonably well in our endeavors.
1) John - last i heard i that he has left his high pay job to become his own boss of a swimming school.
2) Chee Wei - N(T) to ITE to Poly to SIM. Even considering pursuing his masters, as said by chee yong. Proud of you my senior.
3) Kenneth - getting busy with marriage.
4) Jonning - completed his masters in milan in design. way to go bro!
5) Jun Qi - my best buddy, you have grown a lot over the years ar. laterally and perhaps not vertically. But definitely EQly. He is a babe/ crowd puller man.
6) Gavin - managing family biz back in indon. Know that it is not a easy feat for him but i believe sea scouting has prepared him well for the job. Tenacity and fortitude to overcome any obstacles. From a mentally weak otopus to a big mentally strong otopus,M.S.O for short.
7) Nigel - Commando Officer and is doing pretty well.
8) Yi Peng - Did superbly well for this academia in NP
9) Daren tan - Mediacorp Artiste
10) Micheal lim - Manager of Innotrek (fa fu le)
and the list goes on. I have faith that scouting has prepared them well in life. Way to go my fellow seaman. Once a scout, always a scout. It need not be in uniform sense but deep in us, we have it in our blood - the mental strength to overcome all odds in life. And this is what matter most! As for myself, not much accomplishment yet but it will come really soon! delayed gratification!
